Community events

FRV at community events and festivals

FRV firefighters attend many community and cultural festivals and events to promote community safety.

If you’d like to request our attendance at an upcoming event, please contact us.

Fire station visits

A community group may be able to visit an FRV fire station.

Visits, when possible, are normally to larger fire stations on pre-arranged dates and times.

Please contact FRV.

Enquires will be directed to the Community Safety and Engagement Commander of the relevant District or Region.

Another option is for groups to book their attendance at a Fire Station Display in their local district (see below)

Fire Truck Visits to Early Childhood Settings

Attendance by firefighters at pre-schools is at the discretion of each station.

Fire Rescue Victoria does not present structured fire safety programs or teach fire safety to children at kindergartens and childcare centres.

Visits to pre-schools will be confined to fire truck, equipment and uniform displays and basic information on firefighters’ roles.

For more information go to Early Childhood Settings.

Fire station displays

Want to meet our firefighters, view a fire truck up close, and learn about fire safety?

At our larger fire stations, FRV hosts demonstrations for kindergartens, pre-schools, schools and other community groups.

Firefighters cover basic fire safety and show how they use specialised rescue equipment.

These sessions are free and take one hour.

Bookings are essential as numbers are limited and demonstrations may not take place on public holidays.
