Crews battle Maidstone fire

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded to an incident in Hampstead Road, Maidstone at 12.25am after and alarm and callers to Triple Zero (000) reported a building fire.

Firefighters arrived on scene within seven minutes to find a three storey tilt slab concrete building, approximately 100 x 50 metres, involved in fire.

The building contains a gymnasium and martial arts facility.

The response was escalated with crews working quickly to bring the fire Under Control at 1.33am.

A Community Advice to Stay Informed was issued.

Firefighters have searched the building and have not found any occupants.

Crews continue to black out hot spots.

Approximately 28 appliances are on scene.

The incident has been deemed suspicious.
