Part II of the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (the Act) requires government agencies, including Fire Rescue Victoria, to publish the below statements. These statements are intended to provide a non-exhaustive list of the types of information and documents held by Fire Rescue Victoria, including key services, functions, reports and outputs and to assist the public in accessing this information.

Fire Rescue Victoria makes information publicly available on this website and through print publishing. We aim to make as much information publicly available as possible, reducing the need for members of the public to request access to documents under the Act.

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) provides services in urban areas across Victoria.

FRV also provides specialist operational support across Australia and the Asia Pacific region as required.

FRV is a statutory authority led by the Fire Rescue Commissioner and is subject to the general direction and control of the Minister for Emergency Services.

Information relating to the organisation and function of FRV can be found at various locations, including this website, other external websites, online publications and service centres.

FRV is governed by a range of policies and practices. Where appropriate, policies and procedures and published on FRV’s website to inform the community.

Members of the public can also write directly to FRV seeking information on any aspect of its operations. Correspondence should be addressed to the Freedom of Information Officer.

FRV creates a large number of documents and records in the course of its work. FRV uses an electronic document and record management system to classify, store, access and manage a broad range of electronic and hard copy documents.
