Freedom of Information

Requests to FRV for access to documents under the Freedom of Information Act 1982External Link must be made in writing.

Each application must clearly identify the documents sought and include an application fee.

    The application fee is a fixed cost set by the Freedom of Information Act 1982 and is non-refundable. The application fee may be waived by Fire Rescue Victoria for applicants on the basis of hardship.

    Access charges

    Access charges relate to the cost incurred in granting access to the documents that an applicant has requested.

    Search charges

    $22.50 per hour of part of an hour

    Supervision charges

    $5.63 per quarter hour

    Photocopying charges**

    20c per black and white A4 page

    * Non-refundable unless fee is waived
    **Providing access in a form other than photocopying may incur additional charges

    All fees and charges:
    • Have been rounded to the nearest ten cents, as provided for by the Monetary Units Act 2004
    • Are exempt from GST and are set by government regulations
    • May not apply depending on the nature of your request

    FRV is governed by a range of policies and practices. Where appropriate, policies and procedures and published on FRV’s website to inform the community.
