Yesterday evening, Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded a building fire in Yarraville.

FRV crews arrived to find flames issuing from a 40-metre by 20-metre concrete factory.

Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters entered the factory to attack the fire, before withdrawing due to concerns over the structural integrity of the building.

Two aerial firefighting appliances then attacked the fire from above.

No injuries have been reported. Nearby businesses were evacuated.

The fire was declared Under Control at 10.25pm.

The building has been extensively damaged in the blaze. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined but will be investigated.

A community advice has been issued due to large amounts of smoke in the area. FRV crews will remain on scene over night fully extinguishing the fire and cooling down hot spots.
