Firefighters tackle South Kingsville house fire

Fire Recue Victoria (FRV) responded to multiple calls to Triple Zero for a building fire in South Kingsville shortly after midday.

FRV crews arrived to find a single storey weatherboard home fully alight.

Firefighters in breathing apparatus entered the burning home to conduct a search to ensure no persons were inside. Due to the intensity of the fire, FRV crews were unable to confirm the building was unoccupied.

Firefighters attacked the fire with multiple hoselines, whilst also protecting homes on either side from fire spread. Firefighting operations were hampered by a lack of available water and live powerlines across the road.

The house has been destroyed in the fire.

No injuries have been reported.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined but will be investigated. FRV will be on scene for several hours fully extinguishing the fire.
