FRV brings Kurunjang garage and house fire under control

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) crews responded to several calls of a garage on fire at Rain Lover Drive in Kurunjang around 1.31pm.

Crews arrived on scene within seven minutes to find that the garage was well alight and spreading to the adjoining house, so the response was escalated.

FRV crews donned breathing apparatus and began attacking the fire with an internal attack on the house fire to prevent any further fire spread.

The roof did start to collapse so firefighters adapted to a defensive firefight.

All occupants have evacuated safely and will be assessed by Ambulance Victoria.

The fire was deemed Under Control by 2.22pm.

The cause of the fire is not yet known and will be investigated by FRV specialists.

Firefighters will remain on scene to ensure the fire is fully extinguished.

There were around 28 firefighters involved in the response, with five pumpers, one rescue unit and three other units.
