At 9.41pm on Saturday 25 July, Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded to a building fire at Mark Street in St Albans.
Firefighters arrived to find a single storey brick home well alight. The response was escalated.
Firefighters in breathing apparatus entered the burning home and conducted an aggressive internal attack on the fire while also searching for any persons inside. It was confirmed no occupants were inside the premises.
The fire spread from a room within the home into the roof of the structure and caused significant damage. The incident was deemed Under Control at 10.27pm, 40 minutes after FRV arrived on scene.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined and will be investigated by FRV's Fire Investigation Unit. Firefighters remained on scene overnight.
