FRV tackles Vermont South house blaze

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) crews responded to several calls of a house fire in Talarno Avenue, Vermont South, around 9.58am.

Firefighters arrived on scene within six minutes to find a house fully involved in fire, so the response was escalated.

FRV crews donned breathing apparatus and began attacking the fire as well as preventing any fire spread to adjoining properties.

Two occupants safely evacuated and were assessed by Ambulance Victoria.

The fire was deemed Under Control by 10.40am.

The cause of the fire is not yet known and will be investigated by FRV specialists.

Firefighters will remain on scene to ensure the fire is fully extinguished.

The response involved five pumpers, one aerial unit, one rescue unit, three other units and around 30 firefighters.
