Ashwood house fire quickly brought under control by FRV

At 10.14AM Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded to an incident on Power Avenue, Ashwood, after callers to Triple Zero (000) reported a house fire.

Firefighters arrived on scene within seven minutes to find a single storey house well alight.

Crews wore breathing apparatus to conduct a search of the property as one person was initially unaccounted for.

A short time later it was confirmed the occupant was outside.

No injuries were reported.

Firefighters brought the blaze Under Control at 10.45AM, 24 minutes after arriving on scene.

The house sustained extensive damage in the blaze.

Crews will continue to overhaul the site for several hours.

A community warning was issued for smoke in the area.

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria assisted FRV on scene.
