FRV responded to a shop fire in Bentleigh East this morning just after 2:15am.
28 firefighters arrived on scene within six minutes to find a significant fire inside the shop.
FRV firefighters wearing breathing apparatus forced entry through the front and rear doors of the shop to access and attack the fire.
The fire was quickly brought under control and prevented from spreading into the adjoining shops.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined and will be investigated by FRV’s Fire Investigation Unit in the morning.
Crews remained on scene overnight to ensure the fire was completely extinguished and the scene is safe.
