25 firefighters responded to a house fire in Box Hill on Thursday afternoon.

FRV crews were called to the Combarton Street address at about 1.45pm after multiple callers to Triple Zero (000) reported the incident.

Firefighters arrived on scene in four minutes to find a bedroom within a multi-unit residence fully involved in flames.

Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters began to search for occupants and suppress the fire.

The primary search found no occupants inside with crews then working to attack the flames, successfully containing the fire to the bedroom and preventing it from spreading through the unit.

The incident was deemed under control within 12 minutes of FRV’s arrival on scene. Firefighters remain on scene monitoring for hot spots and to investigate the cause of the fire.

FRV is being supported by local council, Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria paramedics.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
