Braybrook family evacuates house fire

Approximately 32 firefighters have responded to a house fire on Alwyn Court and Melon Street in Braybrook this morning.

Arriving within seven minutes crews found the 8x20m single storey brick home well alight and quickly worked to stop the fire spreading to nearby properties. 

Thankfully all family members had evacuated from the home. The fire is believed to have started in a bedroom with a smoke alarm alerting occupants to the danger. Ambulance Victoria paramedics are supporting FRV. There are no confirmed injuries.

Five Pumpers, one Pumper Tanker, one Rescue unit and a Teleboom were supported by one specialist vehicle. 

Crews managed to bring the scene under control within 16 minutes, declaring the scene under control at 7:38am. The fire was contained to the rear of the property.

Firefighters will remain on scene for some time extinguishing hot spots. 

FRV is also being supported by Victoria Police.
