Brighton East unit fire impacted multiple residencies

At 1.31PM, Triple 000VIC call takers have received multiple calls for a unit on fire in Brighton East this afternoon. 

FRV crews arrived on scene within 6 minutes to find the ground floor unit fully involved in fire so the response was escalated. 

There was one occupant that evacuated the unit and was being assessed and treated by Ambulance Victoria. 

All other unit occupants evacuated safely. 

Firefighters donned breathing apparatus and started an internal attack on the fire and to protect the surrounding units.

Firefighters also conducted a thorough search of all the units which was all clear. 

The fire that impacted 2 units was deemed Under Control by 2PM.

The cause of the fire will be investigated. 

Both power and gas companies were on scene assisting.
