Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) crews responded to several calls of a house fire on Widford St in Broadmeadows at 12:42am this morning.
Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find smoke and flames issuing from a house and quickly escalated the response.
FRV crews donned breathing apparatus and began attacking the fire as well as preventing any further fire spread to the neighbouring houses.
The fire was deemed under control by 01:10am and there was no-one occupying the house.
The cause of the fire is not yet known but it will be investigated by FRV specialists.
Firefighters remain on scene to ensure the fire is fully extinguished.
