Car into shop front in Briar Hill

FRV crews were called to Briar Hill this afternoon after a car crashed through a shop front.

Firefighters arrived to Mountain Highway within five minutes, just before 1:30pm.

FRV firefighters trained in Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) worked to make the scene safe by carefully removing the car, while ensuring the structural integrity of the building. They were supported by a local VICSES unit.

While there was damage to the windows and entrance to the shop front, thankfully no injuries were reported.

The incident was declared under control within four minutes.

Six FRV appliances and approximately 17 firefighters attended in total.

FRV aerial and rescue units responded along with two pumpers.

The incident involved a multi-agency response and FRV crews were supported by VICSES, Victoria Police, and Ambulance Victoria.
