Chadstone Car Fire Extinguished

While on their way to the scene, firefighters saw a large amount of smoke issuing from the area escalated the response.

Firefighters arrived to Glenora Street within seven minutes to find a car alight in between two apartment blocks.

The fire was threatening to spread to the two adjacent units and residents were evacuated for their safety.

Firefighters worked to knock down the flames and the fire was declared under control less than 30 minutes after firefighters arrived on scene.

At the height of the incident there were six firefighting appliances at the scene, along with a command unit and two additional support units.

The fire is believed to be suspicious and the scene has been handed to Victoria Police for further investigation
