Crews battling Truganina grassfire

Firefighters are currently battling a large grassfire in Truganina.

The fast-moving grassfire is travelling in a south-easterly direction.

Crews were called to the scene on Boundary Road, near Mt Atkinson Road shortly after 2.15pm.

There are currently approximately 20 FRV firefighters on scene battling the blaze who are being supported by CFA crews.

Air support and strike teams have been set up to help manage the incident.

There are local road closures in place and community members advised to avoid the area.
