Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) crews responded to a structure fire at 1.16am on Main Road, Mordialloc after multiple calls to Triple Zero (000) reported a shop fire.
Firefighters arrived on scene within three minutes to find smoke and flames issuing from the single storey shop and the response was escalated.
FRV crews wore breathing apparatus to attack the fire and prevent spread to adjoining shops, one of which had second storey accommodation.
All occupants evacuated safely.
The fire was deemed Under Control at 1.49am.
At the peak of the response, there was 10 appliances and 30 firefighters on scene.
The fire was contained to the affected shop, however, there was smoke penetration into two neighbouring shops.
The cause of the fire is not yet known but will be investigated by FRV Fire Investigation Unit specialists.
Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria were on scene assisting FRV.
Firefighters remained on scene for some time, to ensure the fire is fully extinguished.
