Crews prevent Strathtulloh house fire from spreading

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV), assisted by CFA, have responded to an incident in Poundbury Avenue, Strathtulloh at 12.30 after several calls to Triple Zero (000) reporting a house fire.

Crews arrived on scene to find smoke and flames issuing from the garage of the double storey house, so the response was escalated.

FRV crews donned breathing apparatus and began attacking the fire as well as preventing any further fire spread to the house.

All occupants were safely evacuated with one occcupant was treated by Ambulance Victoria for smoke inhalation.

The fire was deemed under control by 1252 hrs with the cause not yet known but it will be investigated by FRV specialists.

Firefighters will remain on scene to ensure the fire is fully extinguished.

At total of eight appliances and 25 firefighters were committed to the firefight.

Victoria Police was on scene to assist FRV in its operations.
