FRV firefighters safely evacuated a person from a burning house this morning.
Crews arrived on scene within five minutes of receiving the call to find a large garage on fire, which was quickly spreading to the house.
FRV crews donned breathing apparatus to begin an internal attack of the property, as well as attacking the fire externally from the back of the house.
A community warning was issued for the public to avoid the area around Childs Rd and Marshall Dr, Mill Park due to the significant amount of smoke issuing from the scene, and the many fire trucks requiring access.
Crews safely evacuated one occupant, who was assessed by Ambulance Victoria paramedics.
The fire was deemed under control shortly after 9am.
FRV's specialist fire investigators will investigate the cause of the fire, which has not yet been determined.
Gas and power companies were on scene assisting FRV.
