Thirty FRV firefighters successfully stopped a significant Brunswick East shed fire from spreading to nearby buildings on Wednesday night.

More than 30 FRV firefighters responded to the Lee Street incident, after several callers to Triple Zero reported the fire shortly before 8.50pm.

Crews arrived at the Lee Street property within five minutes, finding a shed and several large trees well alight.

The fire was at risk of spreading to nearby buildings and cars, which were under threat.

Firefighters immediately escalated the response.

Using high pressure hoses and an aerial appliance, crews attacked the fire.

Firefighters brought the fire under control within 20 minutes of arrival, successfully containing it to the building of origin.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by FRV's specialist fire investigators and Victoria Police.

A power company also attended the scene.
