Thirty FRV firefighters worked together to swiftly contain a Cheltenham factory fire on Tuesday night.

A caller to Triple Zero (000) reported the Ambrose Avenue fire at 9.20pm.

Crews arrived on scene within six minutes.

Wearing breathing apparatus, crews conducted an internal search of the building, finding two different areas of the building were well alight.

Crews worked together to knock down the fire, including by using an aerial appliance to attack the fire from above.

Firefighters brought the fire under control within 45 minutes of arrival.

Crews remained on scene to ventilate the heavily smoke-logged building and extinguish any hot spots.

Firefighters believe the fire may have been started under suspicious circumstances, and have handed the scene to Victoria Police to investigate.
