Crews swiftly contain fire at Thornbury school

Thirty FRV firefighters swiftly contained a fire at a school in Thornbury on Thursday morning.

A caller to Triple Zero (000) reported the fire shortly after 10.40pm and crews arrived at the Collins Street scene within six minutes.

Upon arrival, crews found a building was fully alight.

Wearing breathing apparatus, crews battled the fire, and successfully stopped the fire from spreading further.

The fire was brought under control within 14 minutes.

Firefighters remained on scene to extinguish any hot spots. 

Victoria Police is investigating the cause of the fire.
