Crews swiftly contain Laverton unit fire

25 firefighters responded to a unit fire in Laverton on Friday evening.

FRV crews were called to the Armstrong Street address just before 7.09pm after multiple callers to Triple Zero (000) reported the incident.

Firefighters arrived on scene in seven minutes to find a garage and adjoining unit fully alight, and quickly escalated the response.

Wearing breathing apparatus, crews conducted a search of the property, confirming no occupants were inside.

Firefighters worked quickly to contain the fire while protecting nearby properties, and brought it under control in 16 minutes.

At the height of the incident, there were nine FRV appliances on scene, including five Pumpers and one Rescue Unit.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

FRV was supported by Ambulance Victoria and Victoria Police.
