FRV and CFA firefighters are currently on scene in Mt Cottrell battling a large grassfire.
Crews were called to the Boundary Road incident just after 3.30pm and arrived within 5 minutes to find a large fire 400 metres x 100 metres in size burning through grass and scrub.
The fire is currently burning in a northerly direction and an emergency advice message has been issued.
Strike teams have been set up to supress the blaze.
Community members are advised to avoid the area and keep the roads clear to allow emergency services to continue their operations.
