Crews tackle Sunshine West shop fire

At 5.52am, Fire Rescue Victoria was called to an incident on Glengala Road, Sunshine West, following multiple calls to Triple Zero (000). 

Firefighters arrived within four minutes to find a hardware shop well alight, with the fire approximately 20m x 50m. 

With neighbouring properties under threat, an escalated response was initiated. 

Firefighters acted quickly to evacuate accommodation above the premises. 

Crews in breathing apparatus, supported by two aerial fire trucks, attacked the fire and the incident was declared under control at 7.40am. 

A community advice notice has been issued for smoke in the area.
