Crews work to free children stuck in carnival ride in Waurn Ponds

Two children are currently suspended approximately 35 metres in the air in a malfunctioning carnival ride on Pioneer Road and Colac Road in Waurn Ponds. Another two children are also stuck, though significantly closer to ground level.

FRV is working alongside CFA, Victoria Police, Worksafe and carnival management to safely return the occupants to the ground.

Crews have raised a Ladder Platform to the children and are working to safely free the uninjured pair.

FRV will remain on scene for some time.

-UPDATE-

The two children suspended 35 metres in the air were safely returned to the ground at 4:30pm. The remaining two children who were suspended several metres in the air though significantly closer to ground level were freed at 4:53pm and 5:06pm respectively.
