Croydon building fire under control

Twelve firefighters responded to a structure fire in Croydon on Tuesday morning, following reports of a fire just after 8.50am.

Twelve firefighters responded to a structure fire in Croydon on Tuesday morning. 

FRV firefighters responded to the Maroondah Highway incident just after 8:50am, after multiple callers to Triple Zero (000) reported the blaze. 

FRV firefighters arrived on scene within seven minutes to find a fire in the laundry area of the building, and the building heavily smoke logged.

FRV crews worked alongside Victoria Police at the scene to evacuate the building.

Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters attacked the fire and brought it under control within 30 minutes of first arriving on scene.

FRV firefighters transferred one person into the care of Ambulance Victoria.

Maroondah City Council and Worksafe Victoria have been notified.

Specialist firefighters are working to determine the cause of the fire.
