Approximately 32 FRV firefighters responded to a reported house fire in Fitzroy North early Friday morning after the occupants of a home were alerted by an operating smoke alarm
Crews arrived on scene within six minutes to find a fire that had spread through the roof of a double storey home, with threat to the adjoining properties
Firefighters attacked the blaze, bringing the incident under control within 40 minutes, fortunately everyone had safely evacuated with no injuries reported
The source of the fire started in a laundry dryer.
FRV Firefighters will remain on scene throughout the morning to continue monitoring the area to ensure it is safe.
Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria were also on scene assisting with operations
