Approximately 20 firefighters, including specialist High Angle Rescue firefighters, responded to an incident in Eaglemont on Monday afternoon.
FRV crews were called to the Durham Street incident just after 3:15pm, after a caller to Triple Zero reported a person had been on top of a carport trimming trees when he became unwell.
Firefighters worked for about 20 minutes to place the person into a rescue stretcher and lower him to the ground.
They then transferred him into the care of Ambulance Victoria paramedics.
