Factory fire at Sunshine North

At 4.02am today, Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded to multiple calls for a factory fire in Bunnett Avenue at Sunshine North.

Crews upgraded the call to a third alarm with smoke showing while they were on route to the scene.

FRV arrived on the scene at 4.07am to find a single level tilt slab factory 30m X 50m fully involved in fire.

Four additional appliances were requested.

12 appliances and approximately 50 firefighters are in attendance at the scene.

An advice message was issued due to large amount of smoke in the area.

FRV conducted attack of the fire from above, while crews in breathing apparatus undertook an internal attack containing the to the factory.

Ambulance Victoria is on the scene to monitor the health of the firefighters.

The fire was declared Under Control at 6.55am.

The incident has been deemed suspicious and Victoria Police has established a crime scene.
