Fatal caravan fire at Laverton North

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded to a reported caravan fire in a caravan park in Leakes Road, Laverton North around 6.30pm on 23 June.

FRV crews arrived to find a caravan fully alight with reports from bystanders that someone was inside.

Firefighters used multiple hose lines to extinguish the blaze, but the caravan was destroyed by the fire.

Firefighters searched the burnt out remains of the caravan and located one deceased person.

The cause of the fire will be investigated by Victoria Police with assistance from FRV fire investigators.
