Fire at abandoned house in Springvale

FRV firefighters have battled a blaze in an abandoned house in Springvale overnight.

Crews were called to the address on Springvale Road at about 11.30pm, arriving on scene within six minutes.

Firefighters made entry to the weatherboard house to tackle the fire and were able to bring it quickly under control by about 11.45pm.

The rear sections of the property have been destroyed. No one was inside at the time.

The incident is being treated as suspicious, and Victoria Police will investigate.
