Approximately 40 firefighters responded to a factory fire in Campbellfield on Monday afternoon. FRV crews were called to the fire in Amcor Way at about 3:15pm, after multiple callers to Triple Zero (000) reported black smoke.

Firefighters arrived on scene in six minutes to find the factory well alight and issuing smoke.

Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters quickly set up hose lines to attack the fire from the front and rear of the building, and to protect neighbouring factories.

After containing the blaze to the factory of origin, firefighters declared the fire under control at 4:35pm.

A community information message was issued for smoke in the area, and for people to avoid roads around Amcor Way and Jessica Road, Campbellfield.

FRV crews worked alongside Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria at the scene.
