Fire at Coburg construction site

Approximately 40 firefighters responded to a fire at a house under construction in Coburg on Friday morning.

FRV crews responded to incident on Bell Street just after 10:00am, after insulation in the building caught alight.

Firefighters arrived on scene to find access to the site was limited, and had to drive down an alleyway to gain access.

Wearing breathing apparatus, they worked quickly using a water line to contain the blaze, until another line could be used from adjacent land.

Firefighters brought the fire under control within 25 minutes and remained on scene to ensure the site was safe and monitor hotspots.
