Fire contained to first floor of Kensington house

At 8.24PM, Triple Zero (000) call takers received numerous calls for a fire on the first floor of a house in Kensington. 

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) arrived on scene within 4 minutes to find the first floor of a terraced shop on fire. 

Firefighters donned breathing apparatus and made access from the rear of the premises to attack the fire and conduct a search. 

All occupants had safely evacuated, and the fire was deemed under control at 8.48PM with the fire contained to the first floor. 

FRV will remain on scene overnight and the fire will be investigated in the morning. 

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria were also on scene assisting.
