Fire damages Reservoir home

A Reservoir resident has escaped after their home on Albert Street caught alight overnight.

Firefighters were alerted to the incident at 3:21am, and the first crew arrived on scene in less than seven minutes. 

The fire was producing a significant amount of smoke but firefighters were able to quickly contain the blaze to the rear of the property. 

The fire was declared under control in less than 30 minutes. 

At the height of the incident there were approximately 25 firefighters on scene, including five pumper appliances, a rescue unit, an aerial unit, and two other units. 

The exact cause of the fire is unknown at this stage, however FRV’s Fire Investigation unit will analyse the scene at first light.
