Fire destroys house in Black Rock

At 2.24am, Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded to an incident on Tulip Street, Black Rock after callers to Triple Zero (000) reported a house fire.

Crews arrived on scene within four minutes to find smoke and flames issuing from a house, so the response was escalated.

Firefighters donned breathing apparatus and began attacking the fire as well as preventing any fire spread to adjoining properties.

The fire has destroyed the house, with major structural collapse.

The incident was deemed under control by 3.10am.

The fire has been deemed suspicious, with Victoria Police on scene assisting.

Firefighters will remain on scene to ensure the fire is fully extinguished.
