Thirty FRV firefighters and several CFA crews responded to a significant house fire in Tarneit on Saturday night.

Crews arrived at the Colonial Circuit address shortly before 9.45pm, finding the roof of a two-storey brick veneer home was fully engulfed in flames.

The caller to Triple Zero (000) had reported that they believed the fire started in the garage.

Crews immediately escalated the response.

Wearing breathing apparatus, crews entered the property to attack the fire from within and above, using multiple aerial appliances.

Firefighters brought the fire under control within 35 minutes of arrival.

Thankfully, all occupants of the property had evacuated to their nominated evacuation point at the letterbox at the front of the house and were accounted for.

FRV advises all Victorians to have a Home Fire Escape Plan with a safe meeting point, so it is immediately clear if anyone in the home is missing.

FRV's specialist fire investigators are investigating the cause of the fire, which is not believed to be suspicious.
