Fire at Preston townhouse

11/04/21 4.48am

Approximately 26 firefighters responded to a fire at a Preston townhouse on Sunday afternoon.

FRV crews were called to the Gower Street incident just before 12:30pm, after multiple callers to Triple Zero (000) reported the fire.

Firefighters arrived on scene in four minutes to find flames coming from the property and threatening an adjoining property.

Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters entered the townhouse to conduct a search.

Fortunately nobody was inside, and crews began an internal attack to knock the fire down.

Crews brought the fire under control just after 1:30pm, and the cause is yet to be determined.

FRV crews worked alongside Victoria Police at the scene.
