Fire threatens factory in Sunshine North

Approximately 30 firefighters responded to multiple calls of fire early this morning in Sunshine North on West Moreland Road and Warrick Road.

FRV appliances were despatched immediately and arrived on scene within 4 minutes and were confronted with a large fire approximately 20 x 10m outside a factory that was threatening the structure.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus quickly worked to make the scene safe and brought the scene under control 10 minutes after arrival at 4:00am.

The fire initially involved 3 cars and a pile of rubbish, with another 4 cars impacted by the fire with the inside of the factory successfully protected from the flames.

5 Pumpers, a Rescue and an Aerial Platform were assisted by three support and specialist vehicles.

Victoria Police are investigating.
