Firefighters attack Ascot Vale unit fire

At 11.54AM, Fire Rescue Victoria responded to a unit fire on Ascot Street, Ascot Vale, arriving on scene within three minutes.

Firefighters in breathing apparatus made entry and found a fire within the unit, which was heavily smoke logging the surrounding area.

Victoria Police attended to assist with evacuating residents from the building.

The incident has been declared under control and all persons have been accounted for.

The cause and origin of the fire has not yet been determined.
