Firefighters responded to an incident in Carlton just after 12 pm following calls to Triple Zero (000)
FRV appliances arrived to the Pelham Street scene in just 3 minutes to find a fire in a restaurant kitchen and immediately escalated the response.
The fire had taken hold in the restaurant’s kitchen and had quickly spread to the roof and upper floor.
An additional aerial truck responded to assist with gaining access to the roof.
Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters attacked the blaze with the fire declared under control at 12:45 pm.
All occupants had been evacuated safely and were assessed by Ambulance Victoria.
Victoria Police also attended the scene to assist with traffic flow and pedestrian traffic.
