Firefighters attack Kew house blaze

 FRV crews responded to a fire in Kew at 10:45 pm on Saturday night following a call to Triple Zero (000)

Firefighters arrived to the Barry Street scene to find a two storey brick house involved in fire with flames issuing from the roof.

Crews conducted a search of the property and rescued a pet from the home.

Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters attacked the blaze with the incident declared under control at 11:11 pm.

The scene was then handed over to Victoria Police with the house sustaining significant fire and smoke damage.

FRV Firefighters will remain on scene throughout the night to extinguish any hot spots.

Specialist FRV Fire Investigators will attend in the morning to determine the cause of the fire.
