FRV firefighters were called to a house in Williams Bay Walk, Point Cook at 5pm on Sunday afternoon, after a caller to Triple Zero (000) reported smoke and flames coming from the two-storey home.

30 Firefighters arrived within two minutes to find the second storey of the home in engulfed in flames, resulting in the roof collapsing.

Wearing breathing apparatus, CFA and FRV crews attacked the fire from outside the home, due to its structural integrity.

One occupant had self-evacuated before FRV arrived on scene and was transferred into the care of Ambulance Victoria. Fortunately, there were no other injuries.

Firefighters worked hard to bring the fire under control by 5:30pm.

FRV will remain on scene for some time to ensure it is safe.
