Fire Rescue Victoria crews have responded to an incident in Bentleigh East just after 1:20am this morning following calls to Triple Zero (000) reporting a unit on fire.
Crews arrived on scene to find a significant fire in a ground floor unit and quickly escalated the response.
Wearing breathing apparatus (BA) crews worked to combat the flames and the fire was deemed under control by 02:02am.
A thorough search was conducted and there were no occupants were in the unit. The neighbouring properties were protected, and access was hampered due to security screens on all windows.
Ambulance Victoria and Victoria Police were also on scene to assist.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
