Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) were called to High Street, Newport at 12.35pm after a reported HAZMAT incident.
Crews arrived on scene to find a jet fuel leak after a valve gave way with a vapour cloud blowing across the road.
In total, 30 firefighters and 12 appliances attended the incident.
Firefighters set up hose lines over pipelines to keep them cool and conducted atmospheric monitoring.
Staff from the impacted business assisted to ensure safety on-site.
There were no reported injuries.
A community information warning was issued for the area.
The incident was deemed Under Control at 2.35pm.
FRV crews are expected to remain at the scene for some time to mitigate the risk.
