Firefighters battle a 2nd Alarm house fire in Park Orchards

At 2.36PM, several calls were received by Triple 000 call takers for flames and smoke issuing from a house in Park Orchards. 

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) arrived on scene within 7 minutes and escalated their response to a 2nd Alarm. 

FRV crews wearing breathing apparatus made entry to a double storey brick house and attacked the fire on the second floor.

The fire was brought under control by 3.18PM and all occupants were safely evacuated. 

FRV remains on the scene to ensure complete extinguishment and investigate the cause. 

Both the power and gas companies were assisting on the scene. 

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria were also on the scene assisting firefighters.
