Firefighters battle Bendigo church blaze

FRV and CFA firefighters are currently battling a fire at an abandoned church in Bendigo.
Crews were called to the scene in Forest Street shortly after 6pm and arrived within five minutes to find the front of the church ablaze with flames spreading to the roof.
Firefighters forced entry to the disused building to mount an internal attack on the blaze.
The fire is not currently under control however there is no threat to the community.
An advice message has been issued for Bendigo due to the presence of smoke in the area.
