Firefighters battle blaze at Niddrie panel shop

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) crews responded to an incident on Keilor Road in Niddrie just after 12.30pm today following multiple calls to Triple Zero (000) reporting a fire at a panel shop.

Firefighters arrived on scene in 5 minutes to find a fire inside of a collision repair centre involving both the spray booth and kiln.

A total of 28 firefighters and nine appliances responded to the incident to battle the blaze.

Crews in Breathing Apparatus worked quickly managing to contain the fire and make the scene safe, bringing the incident under control by 1:12pm.

Crews remain on scene at the time of this report.

A Community Warning was issued for smoke in the surrounding area.
